Operation: Summer Shakedown

This summer, the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit didn't just turn up the heat; they set the streets ablaze with their relentless pursuit of justice during Operation: Summer Shakedown!

Throughout the scorching summer months, the DCSO Narcotics Detectives worked tirelessly to expose illegal drug operations in our community, with the goal of making our neighborhoods safer for all.

Their hard work resulted in the arrest of 19 individuals involved in illegal drug sales, each now facing various drug-related charges. The team's efforts didn't stop at the arrests; they managed to seize a substantial quantity of illegal drugs with an estimated value of $9,280.

Here’s what was seized:
311.11 grams of Methamphetamine
32.63 grams of Cocaine
82.09 grams of Marijuana
20 pills of Hydromorphone (Dilaudid)
51 pills of Alprazolam (Xanax)
31 Suboxone Strips
14 grams of MDMA (Ecstasy)

Some of these arrests took place close to housing complexes, churches, schools and childcare facilities – locations where our children's safety should always be a top priority. Additionally, per Florida State Statutory guidelines, these individuals could face charges requiring minimum mandatory sentencing.

Sheriff Potter extends his heartfelt appreciation to our outstanding Narcotics Team for their continuous hard work, pedaling the poison out of DeSoto County. They are committed to our mission to protect and serve, making our communities safer for us all.
