Lieutenant Kevin Filipowicz began serving with the Desoto County Sheriff’s Office in 2009. During his tenure with the Desoto County Sheriff’s he has held the ranks of Deputy, Corporal and Sergeant. He was appointed to the position of Lieutenant in November of 2019.
Lieutenant Filipowicz has attended many courses and specialty courses involving Supervisor Leadership. He currently is a Breath Test Operator, a Certified Jail Inspector, a member of the Florida Gang Investigators Association (FGIA) and a member of the Critical Incident Stress Management Team (CISM).
Lieutenant Filipowicz was Born in Buffalo, New York and moved to Florida in 1990. He began his career in 2003 at Charlotte Correctional Institution. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys spending time traveling with friends and family.

Lieutenant Michael Bellflower started his career with the Florida Department of Corrections in 2009 as a correctional officer. He joined the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office in 2011 as a Detention Deputy. In 2013, he left the agency to pursue college and another profession. In 2019, Lt. Bellflower returned to work as a Detention Deputy with the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office. Lt. Bellflower initially started as a Detention Deputy but was reassigned as a transport/classification Deputy. In 2019 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant then at the end of 2020 he was appointed to the rank of Lieutenant.Contact Information:
